MATT SULLIVAN'S
1985 JEEP J20/SCRAMBLER

Matt Sullivan of Dover, New Hampshire sends in a few pics of his Jeeps. His Big Jeep is an 85 Scrambler mounted on a shortened 1974 J-20 3/4 ton frame. He says it runs a Dana 60 read and full width Dana 44 front with 4.10 gears and ARB lockers just waiting to be put in this winter. Matt reports that everything on it was custom made, from the body, engine, and tranny mounts to the front and rear bumpers. Both bumpers have been tested by hanging the truck from them and pulling lots of other trucks out of holes. Up front is a Ramsy 8000 lb winch and another winch for the rear receiver hitch. Also equipped with a full roll cage and gauges. Tires are 35" Swamper Boggers with Bead locks on the 16.5" rims. under the hood is a worked 258 with a holly carb and headers, it is hooked to a t-5 and a dana 300. Matt's little Jeep is a 92 Cherokee Sport 4 door, 6 cyl, and a 5 speed. rally lights on the nose and a cb inside. Tires are 30" mudders on are 15" rims. Matt reports that the Cherokee is getting a 4" lift this winter and also custom bumpers front and rear and a custom rack. All the work for both Jeeps was done by Way Off Road fabrication and design in Dover, NH.  For more photos and some info on the build up check out Matt and Way Offroad at:

http://www.wayoffroad.com/matt's_scrambler.htm

Email: Matt Sullivan

Pictured to the right in the mud are from late this summer at a favorite mud hole in the area after some big storms. Matt is on the hood while his buddy Jay rides shotgun. Matt says they were stuck real bad and it took 2 trucks and a winch to free the Jeep.  He says it doesn't look bad, but if you look for the rear tire on the passenger side it is missing and floating, the hole was a lot deeper the the 35" boggers could reach.

Also sent in by Carl of Boyertown PA

Asplundh's Truck in many cases qualify as 4x4's. Although they don't see the kind of action that the Jeeps and Toyotas in this site see they do require lots of clearance as Carl demonstrates with his 81 Honda Prelude (no contact).

Note: No Hondas were harmed in producing this picture.
