Pinzgauer Action

Ever hear of a Pinzgauer?

The Pinzgauer is an Austrian made military troop transport, made for the Swiss, Austrian, and British governments.

Richard Frederick of California sends in a series of pictures of his 1972 Pinzgauer.  He reports that the "Pinz" is powered by an air cooled 4 cylinder Puch engine. The transmission is a German ZF 5 speed, coupled to a two speed transfer case. The four wheel drive and front/rear differential locks are all shift-on-the fly. This will go anywhere, through any terrain. The ground clearance is about 15".

Richard says that he has has several of these military vehicles for sale.   For more information and details about the sale of these vehicles contact:
Richard Frederick - rmfrederick@iid.com

Here are more pictures and a link to a great website from a  U.S. based club solely for the Pinzgauer, click here.

Bob Swain of Bedfordshire, England sends in these pictures of his son Giles Swain along with these comments...

These are of my son Giles Swain.....taken at Devils Pit, in Bedfordshire, England. His birthday present was a set of Mud Terrain Tyres, and a day at Devils Pit. Judging by the Suzuki.....I think he enjoyed it........ He's called her KANDU, 'cause she can do more than most of the 'big boys toys'.

She's a standard SJ410 apart from M/T Tyres, and 'more lights than Blackpool'..................English joke!!!!!!!!!

We're all new to this lark, but wife insisted she 'wanted to see what all the fuss was about' Her comment afterwards 'Its worse than giving birth'.  I dunno, maybe she's right!!!!!!

 Cheers....... Bob
