Review of Interco's Super Swamper Mud Tire
The Super Swamper TSL (TSL = Three Stage Lug) is built on the principles of the original Swamper 78 series which, literally and figuratively "broke new ground" when it was first introduced back in 1970 by Interco Tire Corporation.  The Super Swamper TSL is the classic bias ply mud tire that offers excellent traction in mud and on the rocks with extreme durability.  When aired down into single digits, the Super Swamper TSL will bulge and flex conforming around rocks and terrain for exceptional traction.  The proven and patented three stage lug design excels in any terrain thrown at it with rapid self-cleaning and an aggressive lug pattern that chews through the mud.  Improvements over its predecessor, the Swamper 78 series, it offers and smoother ride with less rolling resistance for increased mileage on the road and better traction offroad with deeper treads and tougher sidewalls.  However this tire's bottom line is it was designed for off-road abuse and will drive and handle on-road as you might expect an aggressive bias ply mud terrain tire might. available sizes range from a 4 ply 28x8.50-14LT up to a 38x12.50-16.5LT and 15/39.5-16.5LT in 10 ply ratings.

Manufacturers description of this tire:

Super Swamper TSL
The Super Swamper TSL with the patented TSL tread design offers unsurpassed traction under the toughest of conditions. Nine years of developing and testing produced the ultimate tire tread design. Short, intermediate and long massive lugs are uniquely arranged, each proportioned and spaced to bite quickly and to self-clean rapidly. The overall design gives today's on-and-off-road driver a tire that is both directionally and laterally stable; unmatched in performance. This is an extremely aggressive design that requires strict attention to air pressure when run on the highway.

I had the 36x14.5x15 version on my 96' Chevy Silverado.  They fit great with 6 inches of suspension and 3 inches of body lift.  They were loud as all heck on the street, but definitely turned heads from yards away.  These tires were simply amazing through creeks, deep mud, and nasty pond silt, as long as you kept the tires spinning.  Through the snow, they couldn't grab traction for anything, but did very well on various rock and forest trails.  Highly recommended for muddin!

i have a set of 44/18.5/16.5 on my 78 f-250. they are very good off road. in what ever terrain you put them in they do quite well. since they are not directional backing out of a hairy situation is accomplishable. if people say these tires wear great of even good they are full of shit! they wear quite quickly but if you drive sensibly and rotate the tires you can get some mileage out of them. i definitely recommend these tires for off-road use and minor street time. they are good tires.

Have had these tires on my Jeep for over 3 years. Daily driven and off road 6-8 times a year thru everything from sand to rock. These tires have never let me down. Well beyond my expectations and wear. Trying the LTB's next.

Comments:
I've had two sets of the Radial TSLs 33x12.50s. I'd recommend them to anyone for a hunting season tire but not if you have to drive on the road a considerable amount. I've had two sets. I had one new tire blow out on me on the highway with the first set. I struck it up to bad luck. The second set I have now just blew out two tires on the highway two hours apart almost killing my friend and I. I will never own another set. If the tire can be put on a vehicle it should be able to hold up to some amounts of road wear.

Rating  Key - The star rating keys are specific to the terrain being rated in the review.  To the Top
Don't even consider it if this is your main terrain. This tire will not perform well at all in this terrain.

Its trying but not doing too well.  You'd be better off choosing another for this terrain.

Average.  Its doing ok, not great but its holding its own.  A decent choice if you're compromising.

This tire does very well in this terrain but its not the best tire available however still a very good choice.

This tire performs exceptionally well in this terrain.  Among the best suited for this terrain.

Size Availability - This is a one to three thumbs up snapshot rating where one mean poor selection, two means ok and three means great.  Check with suppliers or manufacturers for actual available sizes.  While this rating system is vague, we couldn't possibly list all available sizes with size selection changing over time.  Please see manufacturer for list of sizes in production.

Money Bags - This is an average cost scale based on an averaged advertised cost of this tire when compared to other tires.  One money bag represents the tire is typically one of the cheapest available while 5 money bags indicates that this tire is one of the most expensive.  Averages are based on the tires reviewed.
