Description: Millermatic Passport Plus Portable MIG Welder

Revolutionary all-in-one MIG package that is truly portable - ultimate arc performance, self-contained gas bottle, and flexibility to plug into 115 or 230 V power.

Highly portable package for welders who travel for their jobs... up ladders, down holes, through small openings... this is the breakthrough in MIG welding you've been waiting for. The suitcase-style, 45lb, all-in-one package carries an 8 inch spool of wire and a gas bottle! (55lbs with a full gas bottle and wire spool.)

The Millermatic Passport Plus contains all you need to MIG weld in one small lightweight package.

High-quality arc characteristics feature positive arc starts without popping and spatter, high-stability low-spatter CO2 welding, and outstanding mixed gas. Arc Control allows you to select between a crisp arc suited for mild steel or a softer arc suited for stainless steel and some mild steel applications.

The Passport Plus welds aluminum with the use of the Spoolmate 100 Series spool gun. Setup is quick and easy - just plug in the direct connect spool gun, change over to argon gas and select the aluminum mode on the front of the machine. You're now ready to weld up to 1/8 inch aluminum on 115 V power, and 1/4 inch aluminum on 230V power. Requires argon flowmeter with hose for using the spoolgun.

Truly innovative portable package for welding in the shop and field... this is the breakthrough in MIG welding you've been waiting for. The suitcase-style, 45lb, all-in-one package carries an 8 inch spool of wire and a gas cylinder!

Self-contained gas cylinder holds 12 oz of CO2 for 25 minutes of constant weld time, or 25 ft of welding on 3/16 in thick material with .030 in mild steel wire. A dual-gas supply switch allows you to select between the internal CO2 gas supply or the bulk supply when you're in the shop or need mixed gases.

Miller's exclusive Auto-Line Technology provides state-of-the-art flexibility, automatically connecting to 115 or 230 VAC, single-phase power.

Miller's exclusive Multi-Voltage Plug (MVP) allows you to plug into either 115 or 230 V power. Just choose the plug that fits your receptacle and attach it to the power cord - no tools required!

Impact resistant case provides strength and durability, potecting the internal components and welding wire.

Pros: Improved my welding quality, very portable
Cons: expensive

I run a landscaping business with a lot of equipement. I need a compact welder to keep in the main work truck for odd jobs and repairs to my equipment at times. I used to rely on a larger Century MIG that did fine but it was really too big to haul around all the time so I got this Miller Passport Plus and couldn't be more impressed. It runs a great bead, much better than my gas shielded Century did and it takes up no more room than a toolbox. Haven't had it too long but so far so good. I also use it on my small farm run it off a generator way out back to do my projects and misc fabrication. It was a bit more money than what I wanted to spend but ended up being worth it to me for the quality and portability.

Pros:
Cons: the bottom feet

this is one of the finest welders that I have ever owned. I've had it for about 6 months and welded 2 35' trailers and restored 2 more. The bead with Co2 is super. Now the only bitch I have with this machine is the feet are too soft and grind down very fast unless you carry around a piece of plywood to set it on. Miller needs to make some steel feet to screw on, otherwise the legs won't be there very long and no way to replace them. I'm thinking of making them to sell on ebay!
