Sam Houston National Forest New Waverly , TX
85 miles of trail open to motorized vehicles less than 45” in width, as well as, equestrians, mountain bike users, and hikers. The remainder of the Sam Houston is closed to off-road use. The looped trail is marked with red arrows and returns to the starting point. Maps are available at the office in New Waverly. Online. East Side Multi Use Map - West Side Multi Use Map
Directions: From Houston, take Interstate 45 north for 60 miles, exit #102. Turn left onto FM 1375 and follow to trail head.
Trail Use Fee: $5.00 per person per day for users 16 years of age and older. An Annual Multi Use Trail Pass may be purchased at the Sam Houston District Office.
Camping: Kellys Pond (no fee) is located adjacent to the trailhead, Stubblefield (fee area) is located a short distance from the trail. No camping is allowed on the trails or in parking areas. For daily trail closure information call toll free 888/361-6908. All trails are closed after rainfall.
