Description: Yokohama Geolandar MT Tire
This breakthrough tire design goes far beyond ordinary mud/terrain tires by providing high performance on all types of terrain. The plus version of Yokohama 's M/T tire differs from the previous iteration due to engineering innovations in the tread, sidewalls and tire compound. The result is a tire that can plunge through mud, go all-out at high speeds on hard dirt, gravel roads, dunes, rocky terrain, across rivers and the most difficult of all, asphalt.

"We are so confident in our new Geolandar M/T+ that we are putting it to the ultimate test as the official tire of the grueling Protruck off-road race series," said Art Michalik, director, marketing communications for Yokohama Tire Corporation. "And while it can handle the demands of professional off-road racing, it also offers uncompromising on-road performance.”

Its off-road capabilities are enhanced by new larger shoulder buttresses with protectors that enhance performance, durability and visual impact. Additionally, new larger scoops from the shoulder blocks help the tread edges release mud and dirt. Every second shoulder lug is taper cut, with the protruding blocks that provide a stronger side "bite.

"An additional groove has been added within the blocks perpendicular to the directional pattern to improve traction, enhancing edge effect and improving both grip and directional stability, especially on dirt and gravel. Achieving the same objective, a wide double-step center groove features self-cleaning capabilities while enhancing water drainage on wet road surfaces.

The updated M/T+ gets a new compound, fine-tuned to enhance wear resistance and lengthen tire life. The modifications make for improved stability and comfort on pavement and greater resistance to chipping when off the beaten path. Additionally, two new protection bars have been added to the sidewall and the rim area to make the tire more resistant to cuts.

Extensive tests and computer simulations helped determine the 32-degree angle for the block patterns. At 32-degrees the pattern displays excellent mud expulsion, top-grade drainage characteristics and superb block rigidity during cornering.

The Yokohama Geolandar M/T+ is now available across the U.S. in most 15-, 16- and 17-inch diameters sizes; the full line will be available September 2004.

Yokohama Tire Corporation manufactures, markets and distributes a complete line of products for high performance, light truck, passenger car, commercial truck and bus, as well as off-the-road mining and construction applications. Yokohama supports the tire care and safety guidelines established by the Rubber Manufacturer's Association (RMA) and the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA). For more information on these guidelines check "Taking Care of Your Tires" information at www.yokohamatire.com.

Pros: I got over 70,000km out of a set of 315/75/16, rotate a lot, and try to keep the speed down. Put them on a 2000 F-150 with 6" susp. lift, and 3 " body lift.
Cons: They eat up pretty fast on gravel, not very good for backing up, but comes usually witha directional tire

Excellent over-all for a daily driver, great look. Little noisy, and would be nice if they made it in a 38" for a 16" rim.

Pros: great in all off road situations.
Cons: tread wears very fast

this is a good tire, dont get me wrong. In my opinoin the tread wore very fast on the street especially in the hot summer days. though off road i could not ask for more really. some people had problems with the tires getting gummed up in reverse but i had no problems like that .... only slight build up in reverse. i am located in bc and have 4x4ed all over the province in my jeep .... this is one of the better tires out there the only thing like i said before the wear like crazy on the road... that is my only problem... so if u are looking for a tire for your daily driver go with something classic like a procomp m/t or a bfg goodyear m/t those will serve you better on road

Pros: almost unstoppable
Cons: does wear down once the tire is heated up

Goes like a horse, where you point it. Hardly ever have to back up in mud so couldn't tell you about reverse, but going forward i drive slow and keep my momentum in mud, clay, shale, loose gravel, snow. Haven't been out on the beach though. 30K+ so far.9/32 tread left. Keep them rotated every oil change to keep them even. Running them on my 4x491toyota with heavy winch bumper and flat bed with crane weighing #4100. Fairly quiet also for a mud tire and i'm just running 30/9.5/15. stock suspension. Slow (5mph)speed rumble, rough tread.
Love um

Pros: Look good perform best around 10 - 15 lbs in the woods.
Cons: Have a winch ready if youre going through mud.

I chose this tire instead of an AT for occasional offroad use on my TJ. I've got a year and a half out of these with no punctures in the woods yet but my jeep is real light. Those with heavier vehicles might want to be more cautious with these as the sidewalls look like sharp rocks could do them in. In dry dirt, woods, rocks they perform excellent at low pressure. In the creek with sand and pea gravels they are fair. Mud they clog up bad. I think thats due to the isolated cleats on this tire. Snow excellent. This is more of an artic tire IMO. You gotta redline to unclog these things though. Ride quality is very good. Theyre not too loud, about as much as any MT. I'd recommend this tire for light trucks, toyotas or jeeps but I wouldnt if youre going to be in a lot of mud without a winch or locker.

Pros: looks good
Cons: not for pavement

I have these on a jeep wrangler. taking off and selling. They look great but i do mostly highway driving. Anything over 5 mph they feel dangerous. The steering is all over the road from tire drift.

Pros: Great All Around Traction
Cons: None

I got the Geolander MT+'s about a year ago and i run them on my DD. I have the 35x12.50-15's. Ive ran them for about 12k miles and show very little wear. And to all the people having reverse problems. Try gettin a truck with some power to turn the tires, then you have no problems.

Pros: great off road performer
Cons: none really

Been off roading for years, and these babies will keep up with swampers, with the added benefit of having great pavement behavior. Best of both worlds, cannot go wrong with these tires.
