Secure, safe and fast. The GunVault Bio uses biometrics, specifically fingerprint recognition, to access the safe contents. A high-performance algorithm is used to achieve speedy identification of enrolled fingerprints. The safe has a very low false reject rate due to the fact that the algorithm is self-learning. Every time you open the safe by touching the fingerprint sensor, it adds new information to the fingerprint templates. It also updates slight changes that might occur over time to an enrolled fingerprint as well as helps distinguish variations between enrolled fingerprints. System can handle up to 30 fingerprint templates. AC or battery powered.

"Now that my toddler is so active, I wanted a gun safe that would be secure but also easy to access. This safe is ideal on both counts. Programming the fingerprints was fast and easy. Once they were programmed, I was impressed to find the safe opens in split seconds. (The safe is powered by a 9-V battery or AC adapter, but a backup key is provided in case of power failure or other emergencies.)
I did think it was a bit tough to find where the battery is plugged in (inside the safe, under the cover on top). All other features are simple to use. I really appreciate the fact that I can access my handgun in seconds, without worrying that my son will be able to access it at all."

"It works just like the manufacturer claims. The door usually opens on the first try. I would say in about 2 out of 10 attempts, the safe fails to read my fingerprint correctly - a quick second re-try has always been successful."

This is a great gun vault for storing a pistol in a drawer or nightstand. It doesn't offer much theft protection, but will definitely keep it out of the hands of little ones.
This is very similar to the BioVault which also works well. Same features, but with a different design. Both are great products.
