Description: THE HP3000 HIGH PERFORMANCE AIR COMPRESSOR
Will inflate a 35 x 12.50 R15 tire from 15 psi to 30 psi in less than one minute!

The Trailhead Air Compressor is a York air conditioning air compressor, powered by a 12/24 Vdc winch motor. Now you can have the performance of a belt-driven air compressor (or better, depending on how fast you would have been willing to run your engine while using a belt compressor - The Trailhead Air Compressor runs at 1650 RPM @ 50 psi) with the convenience of a dc compressor you can mount anywhere - it can even be made portable! The unit comes with a one year warranty. Each unit is fully protected by a thermal cutoff switch inside the motor, and a low voltage cutoff switch in case battery voltage drops dangerously low.

Compressor includes: 10 feet #4AWG power cables, solenoid, fittings, intake filter, dipstick and 6 oz. of Mobil 1 oil.

The Oasis HP3000 is a new improved version of the HP1000. Improvements include:

Sealed-Impermeable lubrication system, which Virtually eliminates outside contaminants and oil emissions.

Anti Blow By Design-Oil Control Piston Rings, developed by Climate Control Inc. and Perfect Circle, minimize's crankcase lubrication discharge into the compressed air supply.

Positive Crankcase Vent (PCV)- Works with oil control rings and internal oil reservoir to reduce oil consumption.

Internal Oil Reservoir-internal capacity for oil overflow.

Oil Level Sight Glass-For quick visual lubricant check.

How Important Is 100% Duty Cycle

This compressor has a 30% duty cycle and can run for 12 to 15 minutes at 50 psi after which it must cool down for 45 minutes to reach ambient temperature again. Very few 12 Vdc motors have 100% duty cycle and virtually no winch type motors do. A notable exception is the Thomas 1/3 HP 12 Vdc compressor, so let's compare the two in terms of real world performance. The Thomas (you may also know as the Ready Air and the Currie air compressors) produces an honest 2.2 CFM open flow. It also takes about 20 minutes to inflate four 35x12.50R15 tires from 15 psi to 30 psi. The Trailhead Air Compressor takes less than four minutes to do the same job. Or one hour to do three vehicle's worth of tires for the Thomas vs. 12 minutes for the Trailhead after which is must cool down. At the end of one hour both compressors can again do another three vehicles worth of tires, but with the Trailhead, you could be 45 miles down the highway. Note that if the Trailhead is mounted to your front bumper (like a winch) the airflow while driving will actually cool it off in about 30 minutes. So the Trailhead Air Compressor's extremely high performance more than offsets it's 30% duty cycle.

Pros: Great alternative package to engine mount
Cons: heavy

This is the same as a York under the hood but it's driven by a starter motor. It pumps air fast and can be mounted in a convenient spot. I didn't have room under the hood, wasn't feesible to install there but this was bolted to the rear bed of my Yota and pumps up the tank which feeds ARBs and airing up.

Pros: Interesting design
Cons: heavy

I got one of these becuase I didn't have the room to convert a York under the hood. I secured it to the bed of the truck and it supplies air to a 4 gallon tank. Pumps fast and it's heavy duty. Worth the bucks.
