This is a very nice Willy's Jeep. The vin tag says that the jeep is a 1947 CJ2A, but according to some of the features on the vehicle I believe it is a military M38. The windshield frame, the battery access cover under the windshield frame, and the body indentations on the passenger side, are all features of an M38. The chassis is very clean and has a military stamp (USM4414CM). This Jeep is powered by a rebuilt Buick V6 with about 53,000 miles on it. It has a Turbo 350 transmission with overdrive. It runs strong and has been reliable for me as a daily driver to school and work. I drive it to the mountains to four wheel, and it performs very well off-road. It has the twin stick 4-High and 4-Low, and has locking hubs DRIVETRAIN: It has Dana 44's front and rear, with 5.38 gears and a Lock-Rite locker in the rear. The transfer case is a T-18 and was rebuilt about 500 miles ago. TIRES/SUSPENSION: 33x12.50 BFG Mud Terrains with 85% tread left. Spare tire is the same except 33x9.50 and hs 100% tread left. 15x10 black wheels. Ranch suspension lift, about 5" of lift. Shackle reversal and spring over conversion. Rear disc brakes. INTERIOR: Power steering. CJ bucket seats in the front with new Bestop seat covers, and rear bench seat in good shape. The tub is Rhino lined and the front is carpeted. The floor pans and tub are very solid with no rust anywhere. The driver and passenger heaters both work great, along with the windshield wipers. EXTERIOR: Is also very clean and attractive. It was primered when I bought it and have had it painted red. It is a Maaco paint job, so it is not show quality (I knew I would be four wheeling in it) but still looks very presentable. There are no dents or body damage. However there are two small bondo cracks on the hood. It has a very solid rust free body, with the only rust being under the side steps. Full Soft Top with doors in good shape, Bestop. rear trail rack with jerry can holder, spare tire, auxillary box, and Hi-Lift. The chrome on the windshield frame seems to have been poorly done, and is flaking off in a few places. ENGINE: new alternator and battery, belts, fuel pump, rebuilt radiator, recent tune up. It has an electric fuel pump. This car is almost 60 years old, and is not new but is in great shape for its age. The interior electrical needs work, but all the exterior lights, signals, etc. work great. 53,000 original Miles
