Centralia Pennsylvania

These photos were taken by Joseph Rich (A Tired Warrior) who maintains a web site about cemeteries in Columbia County, Pennsylvania.

http://cemeteriesofcolumbiaco.homestead.com/index.html

Joseph's site may soon go offline due to a recent vision problem.  If anyone is interested in continuing to maintain his site about cemeteries, please contact him with your interest.  He put a lot of work into his fascination of  cemeteries with photos and research and it would be a shame to see it disappear.

Merely scant yards away from the small but hallowed ground of Sts Peter and Paul Cemetery, the earth, sunken and ugly, releases the smoke from the fires below.

It is not the mist or fog from the drizzling rain that hovers over this sacred resting place.  What lazily swirls and floats amid the upright markers and stones, is the escaping smoke from the fires below.
