Gerry McWilliams wrote the song "Centralia"

I was very inspired by the history of Centralia
and wrote a song in 2001 which is also on a self-released CD by the same
name. I have been a professional musician and teacher for over 20 years,
and have played on numerous CDs, and in various acts including
Blackthorn, Tommy Conwell, Amos Lee, Wanderlust, and more.

Meier who sings and plays mandolin on the track. The harmony vocals and
guitar work is provided by Jay Stanek. The Big Sky Stringband is a
Chicago-based band who recently expanded its membership from a duo to a

Jim Grassiano from Alabama wrote a song a while back that was inspired by the
heart-wrenching story of Centralia. Jim wrote in explaining that he never
really shared the song with anyone but would like to share it with those who
also were inspired by the story of Centralia.
Through the use of Nitrogen-Enhanced foam the Pinnacle mine
fire was extinguished by Cummins Industries,
Inc. Cummins proposes to tackle the Centralia Mine fire and bring an end
to the
40 plus year fire.
