Have ran several differant tires on my offroad truck(85 GMC K2500)and purchased these after a descent review by Peterson's. I do not know if they were paid for a good review, because the tire does not perform anywhere close to it. Tire turns into a slick after going into the mud. Even tried airing it down and still would not self clean(yes I have the Horse Power to turn them). While other trucks on the trail moved about(with open diff's/ other tires) I (with a locker)spent more time utilizing my winch. If you are a "suburban" offroader then these are the tires for you. However if you truly wheel then steer clear of these.

I am running 35X12.50R17's on my 6"lift '04 F-150 On the day I bought them it had been raining for four days, and I did indeed try them out. The cost is justified for a radial mud tire this size. They pull outstanding in the mud. They do make a little noise, but nothing like a swamper and the ride is exceptional. The reason I give them an 8 is becuase I don't yet know how they will wear on the road. I have ran everything from Gateway buckshots, super swampers, Maxxis buckshots, BFG mt's to Dunlops. This tire performs in the mud as well or better than most of the radials that I've been around. I like the little bit of noise that they make, reminds me of my childhood. Go Get Some.

This tire has exceeded my expectations in most cases. Mud, sand and deep snow is no problem. On the road it is great on dry pavement (though pretty loud), over 2" of snow and heavy rain. But lacks any kind of traction on ice, light snow or light rain. It took me 2 years to find someone that could balance them correctly. After that I had no problems with shaking. And the tread wear is great. I've gotten allot more years out of them than I expected.

I have 33x12.50x15 on my 81 K10

Unlike most of the other posts I am not going to brag how I "Never get stuck." (this a ridiculous statement to make) or how "I got threw this mud hole while my friend on 52s got stuck blah blah." Every situation is different, every rig is different..

Instead I am going to state that these tires Do clear very well in the mud which is, debated, the #1 factor for a Mud tire. The ability to clear mud well, effectively leads to the ability to get more traction on each passing rotation of the tire as it pulls it self through the terrain, in this case mud.

Very few tires can do this exceptionally well. Most popular being Interco's TSL series which do a great job at performing this task. Though, other brand names such as BFG, Cooper, Dick Cepek, Maxxis, Pro comp ect. posses large lugs to pull themselves through mud. The failing factor for Many of these M/T tires is there Inability to clear mud solely because the engineering design of these tires allows for the center tread to clog and hold mud within their grooves Instead of releasing the mud as the tire rotates.

With this being said the Firestone Destination M/T tire performs magnificently in mud. The tread design is one-of-a-kind allowing mud Not to clog the center tread but rather release or "clear" all mud from its quarters.

Needed some new tires for my '04 F150 XLT 4x4, and wanted A/T. With major brands at over $200 per tire, I decided to give the Hercs a go. They ride nice, don't create any extra hum or noise and seem pretty grippy so far. If you're not a tire snob, these will probably do rather nicely. Mine are P265/70R17.
