Tera
Low20 for Manual Transmissions
The Low20 for manual transmissions kit
uses a six-spline input gear for Dana 20s with MANUAL transmissions. The
kit converts the stock 2.03:1 to 3.15:1 for improved rock crawling
performance. This five-gear kit fits 1963 through 1979 CJs, Jeepsters,
Jeep trucks, Wagoneers, and 1972 through 1979 Scouts.
Made by Tera Manufacturing. Part# LOW20
A version of this kit is available for Broncos (Low20B) using manual
transmissions with six-spline input gears. A similar gear set for the Dana
#18 (Low18) is also available.
Gear Ratio Comparisons
Changing the transfer case gears from 2.03 to 3.15 has the same effect
in low range as changing from 3.54 to 5.38 gears while leaving high range
unchanged for good highway driving and without losing strength in the ring
and pinion set.

The hot ticket for better, more controlled rockcrawling
is low gears. Lower speeds translate to greater driver control and less
likelihood of breaking traction. For more info see below.
