Have less than 5000 miles on a set and the sidewall blows out going down the road. Bought another to replace it and the sidewall had a pin hole from the factory. Shotty quality.

I have had a set of 285/70/17's for a few months shy of a year. I have had them balanced about a dozen times and two of the four are unbalanceable. Now the unbalanceable tires have caused the good ones to ware down and the tread is very uneven! They actually caused my rear end in my 2007 4x4 F150 to seize up from the vibration. I recently called Hankook and after dropping a few "F Bombs" and letting them know I was in the military they were quick to send my 4 brand new tires. just a little hint for you having problems with the customer service. Hopefully I will have better luck with the second set. Good luck to future Hankook owners.

i have a set of 285/70/17 on my 05 silverado single cab, i have about 20,000 miles on them and the tires have a little more than half tread. i have had these tires in some deep sand and never had a problem. i pulled out a z71 on 40" boggers in the sand goin up hill. also in mud they clean out very well. ive done circles around stuck trucks in 2wd. the only problem on road is when its wet, but drive right not stupid and they do well. oh yea my stock chevy out proformed a 99 jeep wrangler on some trails so suck it jeep freaks.

they grip very well on rocks, in mud, in the sand and what ever else i can possibly want to go over... i have about 6500 miles on mine and they look practically new they only lost there sharp edges. very good for light rigs
Better traction than a bridgstone dueller mt, and almost as good wear.
Very stable treadblocks, good street tire for what it is, and awesome forward traction in snow and mud.
Very nearly as good forward traction as the ss m16 I ran, but much better sidehill, or lateral control, doesn't give way sideways lake some of the more radical mud tires do.
Much better tire in the 15.5inch wide variant than a AT tire.
My experince is AT tires that wide grab every bump in the road and steer the vehicle every way, whereas a compareable MT tire has less rubber on the pavement to have such steering input. I am very impressed with the MT 10 ply carcass. For reference I run thses ina 36x 15.5 x20r and it is the most impressive all purpose tire I have ran in this or a 37x14 tire.

Ran bias claws in the past, and couldn't harm them with the most extreme wheeling. Have went through 3 radials now in less than 1000 miles. Sidewalls have been cut all 3 times. Very thin and weak sidewalls.

wore out in 20,000 km. mostly highway miles. packed in snow and mud, poor ice traction, poor balance factor from new- took alot of weight, and anyone who has expeienced this knows the tire will never run smooth if its way out of balance to begin with.
junk imo,
compared the mickey thompson MTZ, or bridgestone dueler MT's no traction, and wore out way sooner, and on the other end of the spectrum my ssM16 wore about as fast, but m16 was worlds apart offroad.

I didn't buy these tires new. They were on my F-150 when I bought it 6 weeks ago. I haven't noticed any trouble on wet pavement but I drove on them in the snow for the first time last weekend and I thought I was going to wreck! I went that day and bought some Coopers (grunt, grunt) and I'll put the Dune Grapplers back on when Winter is over to finish wearing them out.
