I had a 2000 Ford Excursion 6.8. gas triton engine. I was getting 10 miles per gallon around town and 12.5 on the hwy. I then heard about the k and n filter and toronado. I installed both. I went to 12.5 around town and 17 mpg on the hwy. That was a great leap in increase. I can’t say the power was much different but I was only looking for increase in mpg’s. I have found that the around town driving in most cars is not where you should expect changes in mpg’s. It is on the hwy that you will notice the change. I also found that any turbo cars would not see any increase. The best results were with cars or trucks that got low mpg’s to begin with.
On a different note. I have seen a lot of negative reviews and when I first got my truck, I told the mechanics at Ford that I was using this and they told me that I was wasting my time. They also said that the K and N filter would ruin my MAP sensor. Boy were they wrong. In fact, I have shocked them completely when I told them what I was getting. They doubted me but were shocked after seeing the gauge in the truck showing my hwy mpg’s at 17.5. There was no way I could have fudged that. They knew it and could not believe me. I heard later that they started to use k and n filters in their performance cars. Funny how that happens. Now for all those that wrote “ if this really worked all manufacturers would be using it”. That is just wrong. Manufacturers could care less about what works better or not. They care about their product and only theirs. I also did research prior to getting this and found the govt putting a bad rap on it too. Good thing I did not listen to them.
If you are doing around town driving, don’t bother with it as you will not be impressed. If you do most of your driving on the hwy, you can’t go wrong trying this product. If it does not improve your mpg’s, you can return it. I would however recommend that you use both the Toronado and the K and N together. I did not find that the results were better just using one over the other.

Put one in the back of my half ton K5 Blazer with 32" tires. Did not know they worked in the front or i would have bought a second one. Driving in soft sand in Baja, I came to a steep section and stopped to put it in 4 wheel drive. My brother was so impressed he thought I was in 4 wheel drive. That is how good this thing works. It makes your two wheel drive into a true two wheel drive. I never got any wheels up in the air, i just used it to get through sand and snow. Speaking of snow, with this in my rear end and a normal front axle--what I call three wheel drive, good tires, a heavy 6.2 diesel over the front axle and three fuel tanks totaling 57 gallons over the back end, and a good driver--I am, this truck was the best 4x4 I've ever driven. I was very happy with this product. I had it installed by a professional shop that specialized in axle and rear end work only. Don't get this installed by some fruit loop mechanic's and you will be happy forever with it.

I ran Goodyear wranglers, mud kings, sport king at, and courser ct tires. The Mastercrafts were the best that I found. They make a very slight hum but nothing like the mud kings growl. They lasted the best and gave me the best traction. Can't complain.

It completly stagers me when I am going through the reviews and reading how great these tires are in mud, snow, ice, rock climbing and then run into two reviews that state that they are worthless and can't go anywhere without getting stuck. Makes me wonder what are they driving and they rate them a 1. I have to laugh because no matter what it is some people just have a negative attitude about anything they don't have. The gentlemen probably do not even own a set after all of the 9-10 ratings and he rates them a 1. I have these on a h3 alpha V-8 and they work great in any place I want to go or could not get there before because of traction. I love this tire and will buy again.

Tires handled great but had a lot of road noise. Even though they have a 50,000 mile tread life warranty, don't expect to get more than 25000 out of them. Went through 2 sets (2nd set was a warranty adjustment due to tread life). Had front end alignment checked and had no problems. Would not buy again due to short tread life.

I have a 2005 Tundra with 295/70/17 Terra Grapplers. I have around 40,000 miles on them, and hoping to get another 25,000 out of them. They are wearing very well. I do rotate them every oil change and run 38 psi. I haven't experienced any hydroplaning and are excellent in rain and dry roads. They've been through blizzards with no problem got stuck one time, but that was my fault. Over all I'm pleased with the tires!
