I had these on my 08 jeep wrangler. I had my jeep buried and i never needed to get pulled out. hardly any vibration at the steering wheel and the tread last forever on these guys. They look great and perform even better!

Nitto-Trail-Grappler-rv.jpg

I've owned this tire for about a month now and let me tell you nitto def accomplished what they set out to do with road noise. These tires are quiet on the highway and the looks couldn't be better! The set I have are bigger than my previous tires and my jeep ''seems'' to pull the nittos better. I made the swap from a thornbird to a nitto and the nittos traction is not as good as the thornbird. My opinion! I used to climb this small hill in the field next to my house with the thornbirds and my jeep wouldn't even hesitate! With the nittos as long as I keep momentum they will make it also but if I stop and then go again.... no traction. Also the day I had my tires swapped there was five inches of snow on the roads. I drove my jeep to the tire shop on my thornbirds and never slid. Not once! Drove home on the nittos and wouldn't you know..... I slid! I only drove at slow speeds on both trips. Also in the mud it seems like the nittos are constantly looking for traction where my tsl's would find traction. This is my unbiased opinion of the nittos. For the money, I would expect more traction. However, on rocks and trails the nittos do pretty good and are also better in the sand then my last tires. I do like the trail grappler better than the thornbirds because my jeep just rides so much better with them and even though the traction isn't what I would expect for the cost, they still have pulled me through some nasty slop and I still have bragging rights offroad .......... oh and on!!!

A lot of people knock this tire saying it doesn't have enough traction in mud or snow...... I guess it depends on the size tire you get??? I ran a set of 31-11.5-16's for a year on my Cherokee and I experienced great traction in mud, on dirt or rocky hills, and yes even in snow. As another person commented here, I had difficulty finding something thick enough, deep enough, or steep enough to stop the thornbirds. I wheeled a lot and only got stuck once where I didn't bottom out. That was a wet clay like sand and it took two trucks to pull me out. Thing is we had to find almost 150ft of chain and rope because the other trucks couldn't get anywhere close to me without getting stuck. I'm an honest person and I only call it how I see it! Others may have had bad experiences. The only downside to the tire I could find is they don't stick on wet pavement very well and they are loud on the road. KInda sounds like an airplane on the highway. I just recently swapped to the nitto trail grappler and the thornbirds had twice the traction in snow and three times the traction in mud. I drove my Cherokee to the tire shop in five inches of snow and never slid once. I left the tire shop with the nittos and who would've thought...... I slid! OH and did I mention the thornbirds were 200. cheaper than the nittos!

BFG-AT-TA-KO-l.jpg

I have a set of 35" BFG A/t's on my truck and they are excellent for a daily driver. They are nice and quiet, grippy, and responsive on road. They are good on hard-compacted dry dirt and decent in snow.

They fail completely in mud, as they ball up and turn into slicks; completely useless. Even on soft dirt, it will fill the small gaps of the A/t tire and effectively make a slick which has no traction at low speeds offroad (when you need it most).

If you plan to keep your SUV/Truck on the road, in snowy wet or dry climates, these are a great choice.

If you plan to go offroad, even only a few times, DO NOT GET THESE. YOU WILL GET STUCK SO OFTEN ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY

set of 37"/13.5/20 on my 2000 dodge diesel with 8.5 lift 600 rw hp detroit locker in back.these tires are by far better on this truck than my old bfg's and my procomp exterrains. keep them rotated and dont do to many burnouts.seem good in the rain and snow seems ok not quite as good as a/t tire but what do you expect?dirt seems good.i am buying another set of toyo mt's for my other truck 08 3500 cummins.

Love the look and the ride, but I hate the price tag and low mileage they get. I have 27,000 miles on mine and they are pretty much bald (I rotated every 3,000 miles to keep from cupping). I wouldn't mind the price tag if they would get closer to 50,000 miles, but at 27,000 miles it's too pricey. As far as traction goes I haven't had a problem on or off road, snow or ice (you just need to know how to drive on it to begin with.)

My summer tires on my 05 Rubicon Unlimited. I have over 50K and sure I will be at 70K before I will have to get another set. I think the size is 9.50 x 15. I have only balanced them once but have rotated @ 6-8K
