Just flip the activator switch to compressor mode and discover the can-do attitude of the PowerPlant. Powered by a 4.6 hp motor, the PowerPlant puts out 5 cfm @ 90 psi, with a built-in air reservoir and intercooler. That translates to airing up four 35" tires from 8 psi to 35 psi in 8 minutes. Or less. And with the PowerPlant, there's no labor-intensive compressor set up: it's part of our standard winch mounting process.
Switch to winch mode and the PowerPlant turns on the latest in legendary WARN winch technology. You get the raw pulling power of our Gen II Series Wound motor. Plus the proven reliability of the 3-stage planetary gear train and a newly designed contactor that's rugged and reliable. In other words, WARN to the rescue, time after time.
PowerPlant comes complete with these accessories: Nylon air hose, hand-held control with thermometric LED, quick connect couplers, tire gauge and dual air chuck.
WARN PowerPlant - unique, exclusive, patent-pending technology. Engineered and built by Warn Industries, the world leader in off-road and truck performance products.
PowerPlant™ Dual Force HD
HD For Tradesmen and Farmers/Ranchers
Air Compressor Mode
In air compressor mode, PowerPlant is a robust, integrated system that performs above and beyond other air compressors, thanks to industry-leading features such as a massive 4.6 horsepower motor; a built-in intercooler to reduce air temperature; and a high airflow rating of 12 cfm at 0 psi, and 5 cfm at 90 psi.
Winch Mode
When called upon as a winch, PowerPlant answers with the features you would expect from a WARN product: a 3-stage planetary geartrain; a Gen II Motor; a new contactor design that requires less current draw and improves reliability; and an automatic load-holding brake for effective winch operation and positive operator feedback.
Best in class on-board air, plus the heavy pulling power and longer winch duty cycle trucks require
12 CFM @ 0 psi, 5 CFM @ 90 psi air flow rating
100 psi max air pressure
12,000 lbs. maximum rated pull (single line)
Geared to deliver an extra long winching duty cycle
80 feet of 3/8" wire rope
A - Compressor
High output- 5 CFM @ 90 PSI
B - Intercooler/Air Reservoir
Reduces compressed air temperature. Helps extend the
life of the air hose. 1/2 gallon reservoir helps even air flow
C - Pressure Switch
Limits maximum/minimum air pressure in reservoir
D - Contactor
Sealed and weather resistant. Highly reliable contacts
handle high current and allows for long duty cycles
E - Thermal Protection Switch
Protects motor from overheating
F - Series Wound Motor
Gen II motor delivers the power to drive both the winch and
compressor
G - Mechanical Brake
Provides reliable operator control when winching
H - Wire Rope
Long length of 80 feet
I - Air Outlet/Hose Connection
Works with quick-connect coupler
J - Winch Sealing System
Provides superior water resistance
K - 3-Stage Planetary Gear Train
Most reliable and efficient gear reduction system available

Great winch, great combo deal

Cons:

expensive (but worth it)

I put this on my 04 Jeep Rubicon. I was going to get both an onboard air system and a winch until Warn came out with this. I planned to spend about 1100 on a good winch and get an ARB air compressor or something like that but this combo seems like a good idea because I didn't have much room under the hood to add more stuff (I already got an onboard welder under there and dual batteries). As it turned out this winch and compressor deal was a great alternative to more systems under the hood. It airs my 35" BFG's from about 10 psi to 30 pretty quick, I don't know the numbers I never timed it, but it's quick enough for me. The winch is top quality and I've used it pretty hard a few times. I got 3/8 inch AmSteel Blue Synthetic winch line on it. Looks great, pumps air great and winches strong. Highly recommend this winch to anyone who wants duel systems in one package.

Awesome winch with an awesome bonus in the onboard air. The winch pulls great, never had a problem with it. The air is nice to have on the air up. I also plumbed the air into a tank and power my front and rear ARBs off of the air reserve tank. So that allowed me to ditch the ARB pump which I had a problem with a few times. Also needed the room under the hood for the welder.

Right out of the box it leaks oil and two bolts loose in compressor head
|
|
I just took it out of the box and mounted it on my jeep and to test it I ran the cable out about 15 feet and back in. When I looked at it after doing this I discovered oil leaking out on the right side and found two head bolts loose on the compressor head.
I can't wait to see it fly apart the first time I need to pull someone out of the ditch.

Warn wants $200 to replace a relay that only lasted 2 years, with litle usage. I can't see spending that on a part that won't last. Also have had trouble shifting it. R. Atkinson Boulder City, Nv.

I've had this winch for a year now and it has never let me down. I really like the air all in the same unit with the winch. It would be nice to have a wireless controller for this unit though.
