Mike's 77 CJ-7 is not just featured as the lead Jeep
on the jeepfan.com logo because it looks good, it has proven its off-road worthiness on
several occasions. This list of modifications is extensive. Under the hood is
an essentially stock AMC 304 hooked up to a TH 400 and finally ended with a Dana 20
transfer case equipped with a TeraLow. The suspension is comprised of a
BDS 3.5" Wrangler Lift with Rancho RS9000 shocks, a MORE shackle reversal, Rock Equipment u-bolt skids and shackle
hangers. Also a set of custom stainless sway-bar disconnects.

The Jeep is equipped with 33X12.50 BFG Mud Terrains on Outlaw aluminum rims. Underneath the rear is
a wide-track AMC Model 20 with a Warn full-floater and a Detroit Locker. The front is a
wide-track Dana 44 equipped with
an ARB Air Locker and a Warn hub conversion kit. Both diffs are packed
with 4.56 gears to add to the crawl ratio.
The outside features a set of Wrangler half doors and Sun rocker
guards. On the front is an Olympic rock bumper and a Warn XD8000 winch.
Also a recent addition is a set of 3/16" steel rear rocker guards. Some other
goods are an Optima battery, Uniden CB, and custom spare tire carrier.
This is Mike's Race Jeep. There is not
much that is factory on this thing...the hood, fenders and grille?
Under the hood is an AMC 401 backed with a TH400 automatic, behind that is a
Dana 20. The rear axle contains a spool and is a Ford 9", the
front is a Cherokee Dana 44. The Jeep features a custom race
suspension and a custom roll cage. The top picture is before an
afternoon of Line Mountain carnage and the bottom is the appearance after.
